CU Denver CityCenter
University of Colorado Denver
CityCenter at CU Denver is the ‘touch point’ space for an exciting new initiative to combine faculty expertise and student ingenuity with City of Denver civic, nonprofit and business leaders looking for fresh ideas and new approaches to ongoing social and urban development challenges.
As envisioned by Chancellor Horrell, “CityCenter is the University’s ‘front door’ where partnerships are formed, talent and knowledge are shared, and innovation solution to urban challenges are advanced.”
From a dark street corner with a limited budget, the converted classroom wing in the CU Building was transformed into a vibrant, transparent and welcoming space. Pedestrians passing by can see into the space and feel a part of meetings, research displays and receptions. It is equipped with a new ‘front door’ entrance from the street to allow for evening and weekend events. The location highlights CU Denver’s commitment to be a vital community partner.
