Auraria Library

AURARIA HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER

The Auraria Library is a shared library space for students of multiple higher education entities, who are all housed on one campus in the heart of downtown Denver. Not only do students use the space, but so does a large population of the general public for their own discovery. Several of the original areas were renovated to rejuvenate the overall library including combining all administrative spaces into one larger space, updating and enlarging the public restrooms and adding additional study rooms.

The new main design feature is the curved wall that separates the private administrative spaces from the public spaces.

Behind the curved wall the staff now sits in an open office environment that is flooded with natural light and is visually connected to the public spaces through multiple portals. This curved wall also provides a new distinct way finding element that is visible throughout the library. b.
