As often happens at Architectural Workshop, someone on the building committee at a Denver area church
came to us after their previously retained architecture firm came in with a proposal to remodel and
expand their church which exceeded their budget by 100% and required demolition of their original building.
We created a design that added classrooms, a daycare, fellowship hall and a new entrance that
established a feeling of openness through the use of natural light. Our design, which came in below
their original budget included keeping the historic chapel that continues the preservation of their
values, while creating a transparence to the community with the integration of a glass entry.
- Met all requirements set by the church within their building budget and timeline
- Developed a unique solution to move the previously hidden entrance in the back of the building to
the front creating a connection and accessibility to the community
- Sustainable design through use of natural resources throughout
