Calvary Episcopal Church

Calvary Episcopal Church was established in 1867 and is the oldest Episcopal Church in continuous use in Colorado. The original church building is on the national historic register and is an icon in the Golden Community. In 1993, CEC developed a master plan for the surrounding four properties. In 2001, the Great hall was build based upon the Master Plan.

Architectural Workshop was recently selected to design Phase II and re-evaluate the overall Master Plan. A new, more historically accurate approach was adopted that incorporated open courtyards, cloisters and corner towers. The use of historically accurate masonry and limestone help to bring the historical accuracy that ties the new building to the historic church. The Phase II addition will incorporate new administration offices, library and meeting rooms for the current and future church programming needs.
